food hangover

Dear reader (as I'm sure there's only one of you), you are well aware that this is a blog about my experiences on tour and in Chicago with Airiel. Sometimes, okay quite often, myself and other members of the band hang out socially and partake in drinks, dancing, video games and other fun activities like eating. I found myself chatting last night on AIM with Chris and he expressed wanting food from Harold's Chicken Shack. I had been in a hyper and antsy mood till then because of the warm weather that Chicago was experiencing and I was very happy about it. It was after 10pm and he suggested going out and I'd be home by midnight. I accepted his offer and at that time former Airiel member Griff (pinecone 5) came online and immediately accepted to be my come-with guy for a late night food adventure. Mind you, we both live on the north side of the city and Chris and Harolds are past 100th St. and west of Western Ave. That's far from home. With good weather and a loaded iPod we started on our travels.

After a backed up Dan Ryan expressway, a long trip down Chicago's south side along Ashland ave, we arrived to Harold's where we found Chris waiting for our food. A dark suburban drive back to his house led us to the bar in his basement. Here's where the insane laughter started due to the absurdity and awesomeness of our 1am fried chicken feast that was documented with the following photos. Griff and I exited Lake Shore Drive at exactly 2am and had sleepy days at work today that were well worth it.

And now the photos:

The good part of this is that spring and warm weather are only just beginning!
